Thomas “Tommy” James Lumpkin, age 53, of South Dakota, died on Friday, January 30, 2026. Tommy was born on December 2, 1972 in Newport News. He worked as a waterman. He was preceded in death by his father, James Carrol Lumpkin. Survivors include his wife, Tami Lynn Stewart Lumpkin; son, Ryan Lumpkin; his mother, Gloria Lumpkin; sisters, Brenda Taylor (Steve), Donna Belvin (Robert), Casey Webb; nephews, Brian Belvin, Justin Blevin, and special nephew, Kyle Slaughter. He is also survived by his aunt, Linda Harris, and cousin, Lori Subervielle. A graveside service will be held at Gloucester Point Cemetery on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 1 p.m., conducted by Joel Emerson.
