THOMAS REID LYERLY JR.

Born August 4, 1964- Died June 4, 2016

Tom was preceded in death by his father Thomas Reid Lyerly Sr., and is survived by his mother, Betty A Lyerly; son, “TR” Thomas Reid Lyerly III; daughters, Kasey Lynn Lyerly and Sara Elizabeth Shipley; granddaughters, Grace Elizabeth and Faith Ann McCurry; grandson, Eric Christopher McCurry Jr., and his dog PJ.

You could always count on seeing PJ riding with Tom in the mornings headed to Hardee’s for their morning biscuit and then off to work!

Tom was a lifelong resident of Gloucester County. He was the owner of Pine Needle Mobile Home Park, located in Gloucester, for the past 16 years. He was the owner and operator of Tom’s Septic Service, Inc., for 25 years serving the Middle Peninsula and he also helped his parents manage the Courthouse Restaurant in the ’80s.

We are going to miss you and your great sense of humor, just one of your many talented gifts. There wasn’t anything you couldn’t do, especially with your hands. You taught so many who will continue amazing work because of you. You taught your son TR at an early age (3 or 4 years old) the intricate work of installing septic systems and he would correct the guys by saying “that ain’t how my dad does it.”

Memorial donations may be made to Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061 or Gloucester Volunteer Fire & Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061.

The family received friends on Wednesday, June 8, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be private.
