Thomas Leroy West, age 69, of Hayes, died at Riverside Regional Medical Center on Aug. 6, 2018.

Tommy was a painter and a waterman. He was a member of Gloucester Point Baptist Church.

Mr. West was an extraordinary husband and father who enjoyed life, his children and grandchildren. His greatest legacy is through his daily devotion to our Lord, and his love to each of us. Parents, Hansford and Lena Virginia West, and a brother, Charlie West, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Janis F. West; son, Aaron West and wife Wendy; daughters, Amy West and Jennifer Wilton, grandchildren, Alexander Hanna, Olivia Wilton, Chesapeake and Emily West; siblings, Johnny West, Joan Owens, Sandra Sabo, Vicky Hudgins, Curtis Owens and Keith Owens.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Bud Goude, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at Gloucester Point Baptist Church, 7741 Terrapin Cove Road, Gloucester Point, Va. 23062. The family will receive friends from 10-11 before the service. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
