Thomas enjoys volunteering at Gloucester library

“Volunteering is easy when you enjoy the work.”

That is how Gloucester County Public Library volunteer Chris Thomas views the past three years assisting with library programs at the Main Street Center location.

Thomas started volunteering at the library by assisting with the adult program’s theme nights in 2018. He built the Iron Throne for Games of Thrones’ night, and also played the butler for Downton Abbey night and played a bouncer for Roaring ’20s night.

“I’ve enjoyed it,” said Thomas. “It’s been nice.”

He also began playing the role of Santa Claus at the library two years ago.

“I jumped at the chance when the children’s department asked me to play Santa Claus in 2019.”

Thomas began volunteering more with the library once he started working remotely in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic began.
