Thomas Edward Prince III, eldest son of the late Deacon Thomas Edward Prince Jr. and the late Deaconess Lula Mae Hood Prince, was born on June 27, 1956 in Fort Meade, Maryland. He was called home on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 at his home in Gloucester, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adrienne Diane Prince, and son, Raymond Garcia.
He served in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977 as a transportation specialist in the 4th Infantry Division. He then worked various positions even starting his own HVAC company, Economy Heating & Air, which he worked until his transition. Thomas eventually began working at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station in the HVAC department, retiring after 30 years.
He was baptized by the late Rev. Herbert A. Hill at First Baptist Church Denbigh where he played the guitar for the choirs until going into the U.S. Army.
He leaves to cherish his memory and antics his daughter, Jessica Cook (Jove), and son, Quentin Prince; sister, Denise Prince-Hinton (Lorenzo) of Chesapeake, Va.; brother, James Eric Prince of Newport News, Va.; aunt, Elma Jean Holmes-Glaze (Herman) of Smiths Station, Ala.; aunt, Brenda Fay Holmes (Robert Lee) of Valley, Ala., three granddaughters, Quantanylia, Taliyah, Ayriana; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and former co-workers.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, 13 June 2026, at The First United Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be 6:30-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
