THOMAS EDWARD ‘ED’ WALKER

Thomas Edward “Ed” Walker, 70, of Hayes, passed away March 22, 2018 with loved ones at his side. 

Ed was a native of Gloucester. and had worked in the grocery business for 56 years. He had worked for a number of local supermarkets and at the time of his death he was associated with Harris Teeter. He loved his work and enjoyed meeting people.

Ed loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and taking care of his livestock. Another love he had was the most important to him and that was his family. He was so dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchild, and was so looking forward to meeting his new granddaughter to be born in April. Ed was loved so much and he will be missed, but his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Murray; parents, John and Doris Walker; sister, Mary Walker; brothers, John Henry Walker and Freddie L. Walker.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cathy Walker; son, Douglas Edward Walker (Sherry); grandchildren, Brooke Schulter (Tom) and Brandon Murray; great-granddaughter, Skylar Walker; brothers, Willie Walker (Rosie) and Richard Walker (Ann); sister, Betty Mae Davis (Roy); and a new granddaughter to be born soon, Meadow Lacey.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Bill West was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the funeral home.
