Surrounded by his family, Thomas Bullen passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Thomas was born on June 20, 1949 in Hackensack, New Jersey. He retired to Mathews in May 2016 with his wife.

He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Shirley Bullen, and his son, Michael Bullen.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janet Bullen; one daughter, Carol (Craig); a brother, Steve (Karen); brothers-in-law, Bud and Alan (Patricia). Also survived by his nieces and nephews, Stephanie (John), Bonnie (Phillip), Karen, Bryan, Jennie (Chip), Courtney (Catalina), Timmy; predeceased by Beth Marie. He also leaves behind great-nieces and -nephews, Brittany, Jakey, Brandon, Lizzy and Lauren. Tom is survived by cousins, Carole (Bob), Beverly and great-cousins, Nicole, Chris, Jessica and Brian.

He loved the time shared with his many friends from New Jersey and Virginia. Tom’s greatest love was spending time with his brother-in-law, Al, and his family on their annual camping trips. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed target practice on his man-made rifle range, golfing, fishing, hiking, camping, swimming and boating.

Thomas was a Past Master at Burk Lodge No. 230 AF & AM, Bogota, New Jersey, and a member of Oriental Lodge No.20 AF & AM, Mathews. He also volunteered at Hands Across Mathews on Wednesday mornings.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Kingston Parish, Mathews.
