‘This is Us’

Participants in Mathews Memorial Library’s summer program, “This is Us,” appeared to be considering the congestion on Main Street on Tuesday. In fact, they had just heard the Lemonade Lecture of the day, delivered by the Rev. Dr. Doug Nagel, pastor of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Gloucester, which centered on the theme “Our World Tomorrow.” Nagel assured the children that “working together, you can change the world.” The young citizens seemed to have taken him at his word. The program concludes on Friday in Richmond with a trip to the Science Museum of Virginia, where the children will experience a giant screen viewing of the inspirational film “Dream Big.” Shown here, from left, are Alex McDevitt, Marilyn Tucker (partially hidden), Londyn Callis, Brock Clark, Max Galbraith, Indy Galbraith, Carter Hayes and Cole Christensen.
