Legion Post 75, Gloucester

American Legion Post 75 in Gloucester started in 1948. It has been part of the community for 72 years. During that time the post has provided a meeting place for veterans of all wars and conflicts from the American Legion inception in 1919.

Post 75 meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. The legion post is located south of Gloucester Court House at 5849 American Legion Way.

Some of the programs offered include:

Veterans claims assistance, helping veterans file claims with the Veterans Affairs; and Temporary Financial Assistance grants for current active duty or American Legion members with minor children who are in need to help meet the cost of shelter, food, utilities and health expenses, thereby keeping the child or children in a more stable environment.

The post also offers youth programs including a junior baseball team, competing with other legion teams in Poquoson, Williamsburg, Newport News and Norfolk. An Oratorical Contest ...
