The spirit of Thanksgiving

 

 

 

 

 

 

Church groups, businesses and others joined forces last week to offer free community Thanksgiving dinners in Gloucester and Mathews counties. Working the serving line at Abingdon Episcopal Church, top photo from left, were Monica Smith, Bernie Geddings, Sunni Southward, Diane Herman, Jeff Herman, Daniel Herman and Jessica Herman. In photo at bottom left, several Mathews churches banded together to host a dinner with turkey and all the trimmings at the Kingston Episcopal Church Parish House. Here, Reagan Jackson, at right, serves up gravy for Eloise Mallon, while Hank Furniss prepares to add some cranberry sauce to her plate.
