The skies are full of…hydroplanes!

Hydroplanes aplenty are soaring over Mathews. Each day the whirr of the high-power engines can be plainly heard and if one looks sharply he can discern two or three of these monsters of the air. Last Saturday one of the machines was disabled over New Point and after sending a wireless message made a landing near Bayside Wharf. On Sunday two other machines made a visit to the disabled plane and after repairing the damage the trio took flight and departed for their base, near Newport News. On Tuesday, another flock passed over the Courthouse.

Miss Dorothy Trevillian, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Trevillian of Ark, has been notified by Ray Robinson, director-general of the Fifth Annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, of her appointment as Princess from the 33rd Senatorial District of Virginia.
