Mathews Little League got underway on Monday night at the baseball fields at the Piankatank Ruritan Club athletic complex in Hudgins. Opening ceremonies were scheduled for Saturday; however, soggy fields caused those plans to be scrapped. At top, Dillon Skeans of the Minor Yankees practices some pitching before the team’s game against Middlesex. The Yankees won, 11-6.
