The Mathews County Sheriff’s Office unveiled its new “Booking” Station last week near its office at Liberty Square. The bench and little free library were custom built by Sean Martin of Boydton and paid for by a donation from the MCSO calendar vendor—Royce Publication. The library was stocked with children’s books donated by the Hargis family. “It is our hope to keep this library filled with cop books, mystery novels, crime books, and perhaps some Paw Patrol books as well to facilitate a love for reading and to hopefully inspire the deputies and investigators of tomorrow,” a post on the MCSO Facebook page said....
