I’m thankful that long ago we found a home in Mathews County.

I’m thankful to have been able to operate a successful business in Mathews County and surrounding areas with my dear husband and sons for 30-plus years.

I’m thankful that people still remember and speak fondly of Gordon. That makes me proud.

I’m also thankful for our time and travels in military service and my good medical and retirement benefits. I wish this for all.

I’m thankful after moving back to Mathews (eight years away) that the friendly people of Mathews say they are glad I’m back.

I’m extra thankful for my New Point, Horn Harbor and Bar Neck neighbors, especially those friends that come knocking on my door when I fail to answer my phone … and those neighbors that will help when I call.

Lastly, I’m thankful for my new-found friends and staff at the Mathews YMCA for their caring and friendship.
