Thankful: For the family circle

It all started when I was a little girl. We all grew up in the same old two-story house. My mother, Marjorie Hayes, worked very hard as a single mother and my grandmother, Vivian Hayes, was there to raise us.

My grandmother would cook big meals at all times, especially at the holiday season, there was lots of good food, lots of good family and lots of love. 

We have a big family. My grandmother had 12 children and mother was the oldest girl and had two daughters, Cindy and myself, Pam. 

I remember growing up and it seemed like a holiday on every weekend. Family members would gather after church and fellowship, eat, and reminisce. 

My grandmother would make a list for the store and we would go grocery shopping with her and my mother to the Colonial store and to the A&P store. She would then start cooking the Sunday dinner on Saturday evening.
