The Gloucester School Board hired two teachers during its special meeting Monday at the T.C. Walker Education Center. 

Teresa Lukasik of Gloucester was appointed to a full-time teaching position at Achilles Elementary, effective Sept. 28, and Rebecca Teagle of Gloucester was appointed to a part-time teaching position at Botetourt Elementary, effective Sept. 15. The board also appointed Jon Bombard Jr. of North to a support position. 

Resignations were accepted from ISAEP coordinator Bette Garbett, effective Sept. 30, and from support employees Carolyn Murray and Jennifer Stevens. Also, Jessica Denson and Michael Murphy resigned from their junior varsity coaching jobs at Gloucester High School. 

In addition, the board approved retirement for Bethel Elementary teacher Roberta Shifflett, effective Jan. 1. ...
