The Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation delivered baskets of goodies to all three Mathews public schools on Monday in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week. Fresh fruit, snacks and drinks were given to teachers and staff to enjoy throughout the week as they navigate SOLs and other end-of-year activities, said a press release. Foundation member Lanette Beebe said, “From a retired educator to all Mathews teachers and support staff … we hope these grab-and-go snacks will refuel each one of you to finish the school year strong.
