Bearing signs with phrases such as “Stop Spending My Future,” “Freedom Works—Bailouts Hurt” and “The Re-Distribution of America’s Wealth is Communism,” a crowd of 100-plus gathered in Gloucester’s court circle 15 years ago—on April 15, 2009—to protest the current state of the U.S. economy, from corporate bailouts and the stimulus bill to the implications of an expanded federal bureaucracy.
