Tax collections strong in Gloucester

The Gloucester County Treasurer’s Office mailed out real estate and personal property tax notices June 8 and, despite the weak economy, Treasurer Tara Thomas said that collections so far have been surprisingly strong.

 

As of July 31, 5.18 percent of the real estate levy had not been paid, Thomas said, while 14.75 percent of the personal property levy had not been paid.

 

At the end of December 2011, 5.4 percent of the real estate levy remained unpaid, Thomas said, while 5.07 percent of the levy had not been paid in July 2011.

 

Meanwhile, Thomas said that the personal property outstanding levy was 17.68 percent in December 2011 and 14.44 percent in July 2011.

 

Thomas said Aug. 16 that the total 2012 real estate levy is $27,353,806.56. Each 2012 real estate installment is for $13,676,903.28.
