Task force to meet Sept. 28 to plan suicide prevention walk

A suicide prevention awareness task force meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, Sept. 28, as organizers plan for the upcoming Nov. 11 Walk For a New Day! suicide prevention walk in Gloucester.

Those who wish to volunteer for this event are encouraged to attend the meeting, which will be held from 3-4 p.m. Online registration can be found at https://bayriverstelehealth.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJwkceGspz8jHtO8-UvYmBfGUKFdEThJLCgF.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

The walk

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 11, meeting at the Main Street Center parking lot next to Gloucester Library.

No registration is required. A $5 donation per person will benefit suicide prevention awareness initiatives. The walk is being held by the Prevention, Health and Wellness Division of the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board.
