Taryn Mindy Stokes Dabney, 48, of Gloucester, was called by the Lord and she answered on Aug. 16, 2017, to depart from this earth for her eternal home.

Taryn was a nurse and was currently doing private duty.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Monroe Stokes.

She is survived by her father, Elwood Stokes of Gloucester; daughters, Desiree Brianna Dabney and Kiana Alexis Dabney, both of King and Queen; two sisters, Sheila Stokes and Debra Screen, both of Gloucester, and one brother, Terence Stokes of Brooklyn, New York.

Family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory, Hayes. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 at Bethel Baptist Church, 2978 Hickory Fork Road, Gloucester; the Rev. Michael W. Jackson, pastor, officiating, with the Rev. Arthur Roane, eulogist.
