The Rev. Dr. Melissa Mason of North, member of the Mathews County Board of Supervisors, recently took part in the first of a series of online conversations with fellow Mathews County native Bert White of Virginia Beach for “Honest Talks about Race, Racism and Reconciliation.” White operates a religious-based website (https://theskandalon.com) which includes a number of videos of his reflections on faith. Mason and White grew up together, going into the first grade in 1969, the first year of integration in Mathews County Public Schools.
