T.J. Maxx to open March 19

T.J. Maxx will hold the grand opening of its store in Fox Mill Centre, Gloucester, at 8 a.m. Sunday, March 19.

Reusable bags will be given to the first 500 customers, corporate spokesperson Casey Andrews said, and the company will make a $5,000 donation to the Gloucester County Friends of the Library that morning.

T.J. Maxx has stores in 49 states and Puerto Rico, Andrews said. The store features fashion and accessories for men, women and children, as well as jewelry, home and beauty products and toys.

The new store will have 22,000 square feet. Andrews said the store will have an easy to shop layout, bright and spacious dressing rooms, and single-line queue for faster checkout. Store manager Adrian Hill of Newport News heads a staff of approximately 70 full- and part-time associates. Senior staff includes operations manager Jason Perry of Virginia Beach, who has retail experience with T.J. Maxx and another chain, and merchandise manager Maureen May of Bena. Hill has 18 years’...
