T.C. Walker funding, uses on Tuesday’s agenda

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will continue to discuss funding and uses for the T.C. Walker Educational Center during its next meeting, which will be held Tuesday night beginning at 7 o’clock in the colonial courthouse.

The topic of the center first came before the supervisors during its joint meeting Sept. 18 with the Gloucester County School Board.

T.C. Walker Elementary School was closed in June in response to budget limitations. Since that time, the school board has decided to repurpose the building for community use, renaming it the T.C. Walker Educational Center, and the board of supervisors encouraged school administration to relocate to T.C. Walker to free up county office space.

During the joint meeting, several supervisors criticized the school division’s projected cost for readying the building for its administrative offices.
