New confectionary, the Sweet Three, are now serving baked goods to people throughout the Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck and surrounding areas.

The founders of the confectionary, Monica Waddy, Sammi Sosa, and Jada Ashberry started the business in late 2021 and are currently building a reputation in their community with their baked goods.

Ashberry is a soon-to-be Mathews High School graduate. Waddy of Lancaster is currently studying at Rappahannock Community College to be a physician assistant. Sosa, a Mathews native, is a graduate of RCC with an associate’s degree in business.

The decision to start the business was conceived through casual conversation, said Sosa. Waddy had run a baking business in the past and the others shared her desire to run their own. The idea snowballed into the Sweet Three.
