Nancy B. Welch, Mathews County Public Schools’ new superintendent, took her oath of office during a ceremony in Mathews Circuit Court last Wednesday. Welch had previously served as assistant superintendent for the past six years, and has signed a three-year contract to serve as the school division’s top administrator.
