Suzanne Smoot Riley was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Suzanne was born in Virginia on January 8, 1952 to the late Philip and Mary Johnson Smoot. Suzanne attended UVA and worked as the head of Imaging Services at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. She and her husband Wayne of 45 years loved watching the whales when they traveled to their Hawaiian time-share. When she was home, Suzanne loved spending time in her yard and being with her beloved dogs. In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her sister, Marlene Smoot Brummer, and her niece, Ginger Ryanne Marshall. She is survived by her husband, Louis Wayne Riley; their children, Chris Riley (Stacey) and Andy Riley (Beth); her grandchildren, Nate and Sydney Riley; her sister, Ginger Smoot Moyer (Ronnie); her niece, Holly Marshall, and her great-niece Margo Barnes. A graveside service, conducted by the Rev. Greg Hand Sr., will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
