Survey underway for opening schools

Gloucester Public Schools is surveying students, their parents and staff members regarding the fall reopening of schools. The survey is available on the school division’s website until 6 p.m. Friday.

The survey asks about experiences with distance learning this past spring and what respondents want to see school look like going forward in the fall.

School division superintendent Walter Clemons told the Gloucester School Board during its June 9 electronic meeting that he expects the fall to hold a combination of in-person and distance learning for Gloucester Public Schools. He said the survey will help guide staff members as they continue to shape plans for the fall.

In other business during the meeting, the board approved student fee for the 2020-2021 school year. All of the fees remain the same as the previous year except the $10 technology fee for all students was increased to $20.
