Survey seeks to determine county’s parks and recreation needs

A number of county residents will be selected at random in the coming weeks to participate in a survey that will help identify Gloucester’s parks and recreation needs so that the department can plan for the future.

Randomly selected citizens in every magisterial district in the county will receive surveys to be mailed beginning next month, according to Gloucester’s interim county administrator Sandy Wanner.

“Hopefully, people will respond to the needs survey because it’s important because it links into your comprehensive plan, it links into your capital improvement program plan, and it links into your strategic management three-year plan,” Wanner told the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 1.

“We need to find out what the citizens think we need as a community and as a county relative to our parks and recreation,” he added. “I encourage the citizens who get the surveys to respond to them.”
