Volunteers from the Abingdon Ruritan Club answered telephone calls from viewers pledging their support to WHRO during the Public Broadcasting Service station’s fundraising program on Aug. 27. The evening of providing volunteers was a project of the Abingdon Ruritan Club’s Public Service Committee, chaired by Mike Ekdahl.
