Supporting Knott Alone

Susan Jenkins, treasurer of the Five Rivers Woman’s Club, presents a check to Dan Knott, founder of Knott Alone, in the amount of $1,064 from funds raised at the club’s recent game day. Knott Alone is a nonprofit organization that supports veterans and first responders battling the effects from service, while helping to prevent suicide and to loving life again. The Five Rivers Club provides women with the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of the Gloucester community, while establishing close friendships with each other. Membership is open to all women. The club, which was established in 1988, meets the third Monday of each month, except during the summer. The club annually funds a $2,000 scholarship to Rappahannock Community College to a woman returning to school, to be used for tuition, books, supplies, child care or other expenses. The recipient is chosen by the RCC Scholarship Foundation....
