Superyacht visit

Captain Tristan Judson, above, of the superyacht Boardwalk brought the tri-deck vessel to Gwynn’s Island last weekend on his way up the East Coast. Judson, a Gwynn’s Island native, has been a yacht captain for the past decade. The Boardwalk, which was launched in 2010, measures just under 164 feet in length and can accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins, including the owner suite. She is large enough to be in the top 30 largest yachts so far launched in America, according to Charterworld.com. The vessel was undergoing maintenance in Norfolk and Judson was taking her up the coast to Atlantic City, N.J., where she will spend the summer. The stop in Mathews was a chance for Judson to visit with family and friends and for the rest of the crew to enjoy some Gwynn’s Island hospitality. Photo by Charlie Koenig.
