Supervisors to consider 2035 Strategic Plan Tuesday

Gloucester residents will have an opportunity Tuesday night to comment on staff’s action plans to address the board of supervisors’ Strategic Plan for 2035. County staff has been working since January to form action plans to address the board’s priorities, which include a thriving economy, education, infrastructure, human services, housing and land use, natural and recreational resources, and governance.

The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the colonial courthouse and the public hearings will begin at 8 o’clock.

There will also be a hearing to consider increasing the county’s Transient Lodging Tax from 4 percent to 5 percent, to become effective July 1. This tax is levied on hotels, motels, boarding houses, travel campgrounds and other facilities offering guest rooms that are rented out for continuous occupancy for fewer than 30 consecutive days.
