Supervisors schedule two public hearings

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold a pair of public hearings next month—one on a real estate tax exemption for the Gloucester Youth Baseball Association playing fields and a second for postponing the county’s reassessment.
The board scheduled these public hearings at its July 7 meeting. The hearings will be held at the board’s next meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the T.C. Walker Education Center.
Youth Baseball
James E. House, treasurer of the Gloucester Youth Baseball Association, presented that organization’s request to the board.
“Gloucester Youth Baseball has been in existence in this county and on the same field since 1963,” said House, adding that there are four fields that all of the games are played on by the many teams that sign up.
“The last couple of years we’ve had anywhere between 26 to 28 separate teams,” he said.
