Supervisors get ready for coming year

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will welcome its newest member and organize for the coming year when it meets at 7 o’clock next Wednesday, Jan. 3, in the colonial courthouse.

During the meeting, the new chairman and vice chairman of the board for next year will be appointed. Also, other appointments to regional boards and commissions will be made.

Wednesday will be the first meeting for newly-elected at-large board member Kevin Smith after winning the seat in November.

The board is also expected to discuss and approve its 2018 Rules of Procedure, Standards of Conduct and Code of Ethics policy. 

Also on Wednesday night’s agenda is a discussion about an additional appropriation of $199,773 in unspent fiscal year 2017 local transfer to the schools to be used for additional security measures in the school system.
