Sunrise Donuts opens drive-thru stand at Gloucester Point

Sunrise Shack opened in late April at Tidemill Center, Gloucester Point.

The coffee and doughnut drive-thru stand is a subsidiary of parent Sunrise Donuts and Sweets, LLC, which is located at White Marsh Village. Holly Cohoon of Gloucester, owns both businesses. Jason Hayes of Gloucester is manager of Sunrise Shack, with Heather Byrne of Gloucester the full-time barista. One part-time employee also works there.

Byrne said the stand’s best-selling items have been café mocha, with espresso, chocolate and frothed milk; an assortment of lattes, with frothed milk; frappuccinos, with steamed milk; green tea, with pineapple and mango; and maple-bacon doughnuts and vanilla cake doughnuts. As the weather has warmed, the stand is selling a lot of smoothies, Byrne said, with strawberry banana very popular. All smoothies are made with 100 percent juice plus fresh fruit.
