A Sundays Sun Spa Shop has opened in Gloucester’s Fox Mill Centre. The business offers a number of different tanning equipment options, spray tanning, red light skin therapy and more.

Dennis Ligon, who owns Sundays along with his wife Sue, said Gloucester is the 21st location he has opened, with others on the Southside and Peninsula.

Ligon said he first discovered indoor tanning in the early ’90s when he was pursuing a business venture in California. When he relocated to Virginia Beach, he found tanning on the East Coast was offered at a higher price with fewer choices.

“I put up with it for a couple of years and then I saw an opportunity,” Ligon said. In 1993, he opened the first Sundays in the Pembroke Meadows Shopping Center in Virginia Beach.
