Summer visits and church outings enjoyed

Laban: Miss Naomi Banks, who has been spending several weeks with relatives here, has returned to her home in Portsmouth.

A number of the people of this place went on the church excursion last Friday week and reported a good time. The excursion was a success and the goodly sum of $250 was cleared, which is to be equally divided between Mathews and East Mathews Methodist Circuits for the benefit of their respective parsonages. Also it seems to have had a tendency to draw the churches of each circuit into a closer relationship one with another, both individually and collectively.
