Summer teaching workshop offered at RCC

The VCU Center for Economic Education is offering a workshop for area teachers in grades K-8 on Tuesday, July 31 at the Glenns campus of Rappahannock Community College. Registration is underway, and space is limited.

Each participating teacher will receive a flash drive ($110 retail value) which includes over 1,200 lessons—all hands-on. There are engaging lessons for all grade levels, including economics and children’s literature, economics and world history, economics and math, economics and civics and personal finance.

The workshop focus will be on lessons correlated to the K-8 SOLs. The program is being sponsored for teachers in this area by the Virginia Council on Economic Education. This workshop was made possible by the Council for Economic Education through funding from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement.
