Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy the outdoors with our pets. Whether you’re spending the day at the beach, relaxing by the pool, hiking a favorite trail, or enjoying time with family and friends, it’s important to remember that the summer heat can pose serious risks to our furry companions. A few simple precautions can help ensure your pets stay safe, healthy, and happy all season long. One of the most important reminders is never leave a pet unattended in a vehicle. Even on a mild day, temperatures inside a parked car can rise to dangerous levels within minutes. Cracking the windows provides little relief, and heatstroke can quickly become life-threatening. If your pet can’t accompany you inside, it is safest to leave them at home. When spending time outdoors, remember that hot pavement can burn sensitive paw pads.
