Suicide awareness walk to be held Nov. 13

“Walk for a New Day!” a suicide prevention walk, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 13 in Gloucester Court House.

The event is being sponsored by the Prevention Health and Wellness Division of the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board, in partnership with the Regional Suicide Prevention Task Force, a subcommittee of the Coalition for Healthy Virginia Communities. The activity is funded by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

Walkers will gather at Main Street Center (location of the Gloucester Library) at the start of the walk, where they will hear from keynote speaker Ronnie Sidney II, LCSW of Creative Medicine: Healing Through Words LLC.

Online registration is currently underway at www.surveymonkey.com/r/spwalk202. Registration is encouraged, but not required. A $5 donation per person will benefit suicide prevention initiatives. Donations will be accepted the morning of the event.
