Mane Street Hair Retreat, located on Main Street in Gloucester, recently expanded the number of stylists who work there from two to four.

Owner Mary Nelson of Glenns said that both of the new stylists are independent contractors who lease space in her shop. The new stylists are Becky Bailey of Gloucester and Cherie Cook of Mathews, who both most recently worked at the Smart Styles salon at the Walmart store in Gloucester.

Cook has 28 years’ hair care experience and said her specialty is perms. She has worked at several salons in Northern Virginia and for two other Gloucester salons.

Cook has one daughter, Chelby, 19, and a grandson, Brayden, 10 months. Bailey has 14 years’ hair care experience. She specializes in highlights and military cuts. She began her career at a barbershop in Richmond, then worked at a salon there. She has also worked at salons in Yorktown and Gloucester.
