Stylist joins Headz Up beauty salon

Kim Shiflett is a new stylist at Headz Up, a beauty salon located in the White Marsh Shopping Center. She joined the staff as an independent contractor in late January and works full-time, serving men, women and children.

Shiflett offers cuts, color, perms and waxing. She said that highlights and lowlights are popular services as is fashion color, especially reds.

She has 34 years’ styling experience. She once owned a salon at Gloucester Point for nine years and also has worked at several other salons in Newport News and Gloucester.

 

Originally from Gloucester, Shiflett is a graduate of Gloucester High School and studied in the cosmetology program there.

Shiflett’s husband Kenneth owns K.W. Shiflett Construction. They live in Gloucester.

They have one son, Kyle, 22, a lineman for C.W. Wright, a Richmond utility company.
