Stuff the Bus at Gloucester Walmart this weekend

The Salvation Army of Gloucester’s annual Stuff the Bus event returns this weekend, collecting school supplies for local children in need. The bus will be at the Gloucester Walmart, Fox Centre Parkway, Friday through Sunday for people to drop off needed back-to-school items.

Items include everything from backpacks, pens and markers, to thumb drives, post-it notes and hand sanitizers. A complete list of needed items can be found on the Salvation Army of Gloucester’s Facebook page.

The event is being held in conjunction with Virginia’s tax free weekend. The three-day sales tax holiday starts at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, and ends at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7.

Supplies may also be dropped off by Monday, Aug. 15, at the Salvation Army Gloucester Service Center, 7059 Linda Circle, Hayes. For more information, contact Maria Post at 804-642-3960 or Antonia.post@uss.salvationarmy.org.
