Studying with P.E.O. support

P.E.O. Chapter BT members recently gathered at a luncheon at The Table Restaurant in Deltaville to honor the three young women they are sponsoring in higher education. Pictured from left are Rachel Woolard of White Stone, who will be a sophomore at Radford University; Torrance Roberts, 2022 Mathews High School graduate who will be a freshman at Rappahannock Community College this fall and is the recipient of the P.E.O. Chapter BT Suzy Jones Scholarship, and Sophie Gibson, Mathews, who will be a sophomore at RCC this fall. P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College, and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations, according to the group’s website.
