Studio 101 children’s art program starts Saturday

Gloucester Arts on Main’s new children’s art programfor children ages 4-5, Studio 101, begins this Saturday with a class featuring Jasper Johns’ 1959 painting “Alphabet.”

Students will identify and review the alphabet and create art using crayons and watercolor paint.Each student must be accompanied by a caregiver. The cost is $25 per student.

Class for ages 7 to 11

Also on Saturday, there will be a class for ages 7-11 on “Bursting Open Paper Relief Sculpture.” Students will experiment with folding paper, creating symmetry, and completing a project that creates a dramatic relief sculpture by combining the folded units.

All materials will be provided by the instructor. The cost is $25. Registration ends at 5 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 4.For more information, call 804-824-9464.
