Arts on Main is hosting a new program for children 4-6 years old—Studio 101.
During each class, children will be introduced to different art mediums while learning about techniques, processes, and artists, said a press release. Each student must be accompanied by an adult who will stay with them during the class to help their child as needed.
The first class, Painting Mondrian Squares, will be held from 9:30–10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8 at the gallery on Main Street in Gloucester. Students will discuss geometric shapes and primary colors. Then they will use acrylic paint to paint squares using only primary colors. Piet Mondrian’s work will be used as inspiration.
All materials are provided. The cost is $25 per student.
