Students invited to submit art for Congressional competition

The 2026 Congressional Art Competition is now open to all high school students, announced Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Montross), who invited students in his district to take part. He said first-place artwork will earn a yearlong display at the U.S. Capitol. All submissions must be received by Monday, April 27. “I encourage all young artists in the [1st Congressional] District to participate in this year’s competition and look forward to seeing their creativity on display,” Wittman said. Eligible submissions include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media pieces, computer-generated artwork and photography. All entries must be original in concept, design, and execution and must comply with U.S. copyright laws, the release said.
