The new state-licensed Student Support Center for working families operated by the Mathews Family YMCA will open on Monday at the Boys and Girls Club building on Church Street in Mathews. Under the leadership of YMCA Youth Development Director Olivia McComas, shown here, the program will have two components: virtual school in-class time to help students ages 5 to 12 years with technology and support their learning, and before-and-after school hours, when team members will help children with homework, provide crafts, and offer opportunities to participate in healthy activities.
