Student Spotlight: Stone constructs mega-sized chess set at Beaverdam

Patrick Stone is a 16-year-old Gloucester High School junior, an NJROTC commander, and Eagle Scout candidate. Although making a noticeable impact on the Gloucester community, Stone is a native New Jerseyite who relocated here with his parents as a child.

During his time in Gloucester, Stone has earned his positions in the National Honor Society and Beta Club as an honors student. Stone is also a student of the Governor’s School program at Rappahannock Community College, which puts him on track for graduation with an associate’s degree before getting his high school diploma.

Stone is also a student of STEM Academy, which is sub-school of students that regularly exercise their skills in science, technology, engineering and math, as well as taking trips to explore career paths that lie in those fields.
